Nicola Chan Studio is an architecture and design studio based in Bristol. We create thoughtful, timeless homes that respond to the way people live.

Every project begins with listening—to space, light, landscape, and how the home will be lived in. We shape each home with care, guided by your brief, your priorities, and your vision.

The design evolves in response to what’s needed, and with respect for time, budget, and craft. Our work is rooted in simplicity, natural materials, and quiet moments of beauty.

We are committed to designing with environmental responsibility favouring natural, locally sourced materials and low-carbon construction methods wherever possible.

Nicola founded Nicola Chan Studio in 2019, following several years with leading architecture practices in London and Bristol.

Her work focuses on residential projects—from new-build homes to the careful reworking of existing and listed buildings. She is particularly drawn to working with what already exists, finding beauty and potential in the structures we inherit.

Alongside her practice, Nicola leads an undergraduate design studio at the Welsh School of Architecture in Cardiff.
